The King.
An infographic designed in 2019 to capture the incredible list of accomplishments that Lebron James has collected over the first 17 years of his career. In the past five years Lebron has added another championship to his resume and is now the NBA all-time leading scorer, an update to the poster is definitely needed.
Illustration
A set of icons were developed to capture the stats and achievements of Jame’s career. This included four jersey icons to represent each of the teams Lebron has played for along with the important awards he has collected.
Photography
When it came time to choose the image for the infographic there were many choices to be made. I first had to decide which of Lebron’s three teams to display him on. I decided to use a photo of Lebron on the Cavs during the 2017 season; his last with the team.
Choosing the Cavaliers was ultimately the best choice because most of Lebron’s stats occurred during his 11 years with the team. Although more championships were won in Miami and the Lakers are his current team, Cleveland will always be Lebron’s city.
Photo Editing
The next step was photo editing. The original image contained multiple colors and would be too cluttered with vector stats overlaid. The first edit I made was changing the image to greyscale but some color was still needed. A burgundy monotone was chosen to match the Cavalier’s colors. The last touch was adding noise to remove the feeling of image flatness.
Layout Sketches
The final step was planning out how to fit the icons and stats along with the background image.
